- There is a tower in Mornington and it is called Maiden Tower. Once upon a time there lived a lady in it and her husband went to sea, before he went he told her that if he was coming back the crew would put a white flag on the ship and if he was not they would put a black flag up. They put a black flag up for sport. When the lady saw the flag she jumped off the tower and disappeared but her finger was sticking up from the ground and it is said that her finger is there still.
