  1. Long ago this old couple lived in a tiny cottage in the country. The only thing they owned was a cat called Moll Roe.
    One night as the husband was going home he saw a great crowd of cats with nails at the end of them. The leader stopped and spoke. "Tell Moll Roe that Kate Strangles is dead," he said. Wondering the old man hurried home and on entering saw the cat sitting before the fire. The man addressed the cat. ["]Kate Strangles is dead["] he said. The effect of those quietly spoken words was starting. Moll Roe disappeared up the chimney and was never to be seen again.
