This line was twisted round long (lanes) nails and the nails driven into each wall. This line was about three or four feet from the ceiling. The ceiling was covered with oil-skin to preserve it from getting black. - Long ago the people used to make candles themselves. They melted fat and shaped it in to long sticks, then tapers were put into them.(continues on next page)
