    sending Pat Everard up to the wheat. When he got him away he hid the gold in the ditch.
    Next morning John Hogan rose extra early and left the country, not forgetting the gold. Tales or tidings were never heard of him since.
    To prove that he got the gold, Pat Everard found the pot with some gold at the bottom of it. This charming story was related by Pat Everard himself, to the person who told me.
