  1. My Home District
My home district is known as Gilltown, which is situated in the townland of Gilltown in the parish of Rosnaree and in the barony of Slane.
There are six families in the district - Smith’s Boylan’s. Gorman’s and three families of Lenehan’s with thirty eight people in all. The types of the local houses are thatched and slated three two - story and three cottages.
Houses were not as numerous in former times as they are to day. The most common name is Lenehan.
Rosnaree is mentioned in the poem known as, “The Burial of King Cormac”
“Bury me at Rosnaree and face me to the rising sun”
