- Johnie Dorgan was a blind man and he lived at the top of the Windmill hill near Yellow-Furze.
He could make a song about anything and everything. I remember the time that Davitt and O'Mahony was up for the General Elections, and Davitt got elected. Dorgan had a song ready no matter what party won.
I was a young lad at the time and was sent to Sampsons in Slane with and old ass belonging to Miss O'Neill of Dollardstown, for a tar barrell and two half barrells of porter, as there was to be a big night at the Windmill, and so there [unsure] tar barrells put on the top of the Windmill (lately(continues on next page)- Collector
