- Long ago there came men from the West of Ireland to help the farmers in Co. Meath to do the harvest. Five men were working with Pat Magrane, a farmer, now living in the Rock Road, Walterstown, and according as he paid them their wages, they put the money in a bag and hid it until they were going home again. They were telling Pat that they all began their journey together on a Sunday. At the end of the harvest they used to meet again count what they earned and go off home together.

- A little way below Mickie Byrd's on the right as you face for Drogheda, there is a big stone. On this stone, there is the shape of a thumb-mark. It is said by some people that St. Patrick threw this stone from Tara, about five miles away, and that it is his thumb-mark that is on it. Other people say that it was a giant who threw it from Tara.
