  1. Blessed Virgin's Thistle cures the Whooping Cough. Boil it in new milk and drink the milk. The Blessed Virgin's Thistle is a large thistle with milky waves through the leaves.
    House Leeks cure a hardness in the cow's udder after calving.
    Gooseberry Thorns cure a sty in the eye. Pick nine thorns and point them to your eye and then throw them across your left shoulder.
    A Dandelion cures warts. Break the Dandelion across in two and rub the juice of it to the warts.
    Blessed Virgin's Moss cures the toothache. You pick nine bits of it and point them one by one to the affected part saying "In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost." Then throw the bits away.
