The pot was teemed through a sally-rod basket and the basket was placed in the middle of the floor. They'd eat the potatoes with salt and pepper and they'd drink buttermilk out of noggins, with them. They'd sup a round out of the noggins. You'd take a drink now and then another and so on.

Tommy Kieran's attacked to take away "Saddle Hill". He took a few sods out of it when he had to stop. He got burley-footed, he'd kick the ankles out of himself when trying to walk. There Jimmy Reynolds lived at one time during his youth. His mother (R.I.P.) used to pay 1/- a week for the rent of it to the Roodle Farrelly. The "FRoodle" lived up in the old house now in Hantons farm in the Deerpark. This man had a girl working for him called Jane Muldoon. She'd go off with the fairies every year.
