  1. I live in the townland of Baltrasna in the parish of Ashbourne which is situated in the barony of Ratoath.
    There are eleven families in the townland comprising thirty people in all.
    There are four of the inhabitants over seventy years of age but they cannot speak a word of Irish neither did they ever hear a word of Irish spoken in their youth.
    There are eleven houses in Baltrasna, four of them are thatched and seven of them are slated.
    There were never any more houses around Baltrasna than eleven.
    The land around it is very good for grazing and the most of it is owned by Walter Bates whose house is built on it.
