- Christmas Customs
As Christmas is rapidly drawing near we are looking forward to our Christmas holidays.
We whitewash and distemper the kitchen a few days before Christmas and then we decorate the house with holly and ivy.
Wehave the holly and ivy up until new years day and then we take it down and burn it.
Every Christmas Eve night we get a Christmas candle and light it and put on the window sill and leave it lighting all night until we go to bed.
That is done to give the Blessed Virgin and the child Jesus light to see , when they are going around.
Every Christmas day we have a goose , ham and beef for dinner.
Not many people go around visiting on Christmas day as they eat so much at dinner that they dont feel like going around.(continues on next page)- Collector
