- We haven't much land at home only about a rood of ground, but all the same we plant enough potatoes to do nearly the whole year round. Some farmers sow thirty acres of potatoes or more.
People sow different kinds of potatoes every year.
My father and brother prepare the ground.
They did the ground in November when all the potatoes are dug out.
Farmers use ploughs to make drills, but those that have small gardens use a spade. The spade is like this:- Around the beginning of Spring the ground is dug and manured again, and potatoes are planted in March. Some of them are fit to be eaten in July.
