- The most common and harmful weeds growing in our district are, thistles, nettles, scutch grass, bulky shanks, hemlock, chicken weed and grounsel.
Rushes grow on bad land, and clover and bulky shanks called buacallán in Irish grow on good land.
Dandelions are very good to eat and some people eat them.
The milk of the dandelion is good for warts.
Iodine is made out of seaweed.
Crane's Bill is a little pink flower with flat leaves and it cures Rheumatism. Every bit of it is boiled except the roots, and sugar is put into it. Then it is drank and the Rheumatism is cured.
