    lasted he slept here by day and at night if there were sick calls or sacraments to be dispensed the servant would apply the ladder and the old vicar would descend accompanied by his servant, attend to his people and return home before daybreak.
    This room was constantly locked and when footsteps were heard at night the servants believed it to be a ghost. That room is locked still.
    In Killegland churchyard there is a horizontal stone which bears an inscription in Latin which tells that Rev Michael Plunkett died August 1727 aged 75 years.
