  2. N.B.
    The ruins of two churches still
    (1) Stand in Kilbrew - (1) An old Franciscan Church - where an ancient grave-yard now stands - this building was destroyed by the Danes.
    (2) Later an Augustinian Church was erected which was destroyed at the time of the Reformation. The belfry of this remained in good order until the land was divided a few years ago.
