    in the (Norman) Danish Invasion, and the Augustinian one was destroyed in the Norman Invasion.
    It is recorded in the book called "The Monasticons" that in 736 Maelochtiog, Abbot of Kilbrew died.
    An old church-yard and two ruins mark the sites of these monasteries.
    Saint Brigid is the patron saint of Kilbrew.
    2. Trevet = Trí fód, that is three sods, because three sods were dug in honour of the Trinity.
    In olden times it was a townland and belonged to the Parish of Curraha, but now it belongs to Skryne.
    It is the burial place of Art, who was the son of Conn of the Hundred Battles.
