John Byrne, Rathcore (48)
Rosie Byrne (13)Old people say that about a quarter of a mile from the street of Rathcore on the Trim road, there was an old grinding-mill, owned by Mr. Patrick Brien. Mr. Brien was known to have much money in gold. He had it hidden in the mill-parks. The man took seriously ill and was going to die. When he was dying, he pointed out and said "Money outside", but he was not able to tell them where it was. The neighbours dug for it, but they could not find it. At present the field is in pasture. There is nobody guarding the treasure.- Collector
