(continued from previous page)three miles. Soon they came to a beautiful palace under the water. It was surrounded by a lot of grand stables. All the people there had a very nice time. But Mary had to clean out horse stables - she was made a slave girl. Her father was searching for her every where and even the guards but they gave up all hopes of getting her. They thought some wild beast devoured her. One night her father was in bed. He heard a knock at the door and he got up to see who it was. It was his own daughter. He told her to come inside but she said she could not because the fairies had a grip on her. She told him she would stay with him if he got hens droppings and dashed her allover with them.
