Told by Mrs. Davis, Moyrath, Kildalkey. - The Lore of Certain DaysIn this District cures for pains and people are cured on Sundays. Tuesday and Fridays are thought to be unlucky for making graves as ghosts and evil spirits are seen if the graves are made on these days. People generally change from one days ahouse to another on Friday. If a person is paying a bill he pays it on Wednesdays or Saturdays. The "Cross day of the Year" occurs in May and it was a custom to put a scraw on a young foals head if it was born on that day or it was supposed to kill somebody.
