The markets were held in former times on the streets in the towns. They are still held there. Men used go round collecting bottles, horse hair, rags and wool. These men still come. A man used to go round collecting eggs and buying fowl. This man was called a "higgler". He still goes round in a van. He sells bacon and tomatoes now.- Collector
