    and shouted, "Hey Boland, lower that lamp or quench it." Boland at once quenched the lamp he could not move with fear. And all at once the band of fairies disappeared under the ground as if the ground opened and swallowed them.
    The fairies stole away an old woman named Mrs Hyland, though they let her back to earth again. She often came round begging at my Grannie's door after. She never spoke of the fairies or where they brought her.
    The old people used to say that the fairies made her promise she'd never tell anyone where she had been or they'd bring her back for ever.
