  1. On the night Our Lord was born in the stable of Bethlehem, the moon was shining brightly, but the inside of the cave was dark.
    Now, Our Lady wished very much to see the face of Her Divine Son, but could not owing to the darkness. A little black worm that happened to be crawling across the road got to know of her wish. So he asked the moon to lend him a few rays of her light. He entered the cave and crawled to the edge of Our Lady's robe, and lo! a that very moment a light shone out from the little dark body and crept up and up till it shone right across the face of the Holy Child.
    In this way Our Lady got her wish, and since that night every worm of this kind glows with light and
