  1. There are a number of superstitions in this district, for instance:-
    1. If a fork falls on the ground a woman is coming
    2. If a knife falls there is a man coming
    3. If a coal falls out of the fire a friend is coming
    4. If you meet a Blackbird on the road that is for sorrow.
    5. If you meet two Blackbirds that is for luck.
    6. If you meet three Blackbirds on the road that is a sign of marriage.
    7. If a piece of soot falls down the chimney it is a sign of storm.
