where there was a good fall for the water, and there they would make a dam to stop the water.
They would have a box about four feet long and two feet deep made of laths about half an inch apart. They put this box in the centre of the dam and let the water flow through it and the eels could not get through the laths and so they were captured.
    Burning of lime in Kilns
Kilns were built of stones, leaving a small opening at the bottom of them.
Then the peope used to light a big fire of turf and put limestone on top of the fire and keep on doing so till they had the kiln filled.
When all the turf and limestone were burned they took it out of the kiln and made it into mortar building purposes and scattered it on the land for manure.
