  1. A little woman ran into a house in Maracloone one day. She asked the people in it to scratch her back but they would not. She left the house and ran into another house and asked them to scratch her back. They did, and as she was going out she shook herself and a lot of money fell from her and they gathered it up and they were rich ever after. The other people who wouldn't scratch her back could only get enough to eat for the rest of their lives.
    A man named the tailor Cahill lived in Lossett. He was the sort of a man that would take no notice of you.
    One night his wife and children were gone to bed and he was working in the kitchen.
    A friend of his wife's was living in Scotland and as he was working he saw her coming in. He went on working and she went down to the room where his wife and children were sleeping.
    She came back again and went out and when she was gone he said "That is Catherin." He followed her out but she was nowhere to be seen.
    In a few days after they heard that the friend was dead.
    An old woman lived in a little room at the end of my great-grandmother's house.
