be put under a green sod.
They had a mare in Lossett and she foaled on Good Friday. They had a servant boy and says he "It will be a kinkasha." So before the foal stood up he dug a long green sod and covered the foal with it, the green side next to it and then took it off. This act was supposed to cure the kinkasha.
There is a certain day in the week, Tuesday, that a grave will not be dug in Kilmainham grave-yard. The way they manage is they take a sod off the day before and then it is no harm to dig a grave on that day.
