- There is a giant's grave in Carriga Co. Meath. It is raised up on a little mound and there is a flag on top of it. A little of the flag is broken.
I got the following from my granny.
Once upon a time there was a man who thought somebody was taking the milk from his cows.
One May morning he sat up to watch as an old belief was that May morning was the witches' morning. He brought his gun with him. At about two o'clock a.m. he saw a hare going through his cows. He fired at her and she ran off and he ran after her. On his way home he had to go past a witches' house, and as he was passing she called to him to come in.
