  1. A man named John Dunne who lived at Bailbieboro walked to Dublin fifty miles. He bought a violin in Dublin and walked back home again fifty miles more and was home at eleven p.m. that night. He played some music at a céile till five a.m. next morning. I think he must have been a very good walker.
    He died some years ago.
A man named James Fitzimmons was one of the best runners in Ireland in his time. He was the champion of Ireland for two years. He was as swift as a hare. He often did a five mile race in twenty three minutes.
Unfortunately he died of pneumonia after three days' illness at thirty six years of age. His brother's address is Patrick Fitzimons
