    this man was riding his horse, the latter fell and the rest of the horses ran on top of the man and killed him. There was never a fair held in Tierworker after that. When it ceased there , a fair took place in Muff and is held there still.
    Two fairly big lakes are at the foot of the mountain each lake is about fifteen perches apart. Nineteen houses are in it including a Post Office, a public house and a priests house. A catholic church is also erected along the main road. There are two fairy big bogs in it. Five people over seventy years of age are at present living in this downland namely Owen Daly, Terry MacCabe, Bernard Gargan and Patrick Carolan. The roads of Tierworker are running to Bailieborough and to Kilmainhamwood and the old road goes to Cormeen and from that to Moynalty.
    The prevould story was told by HughCarolan (age 70) Tierworker, Bailieborough, Co Meath to his son Kevin.
