A neighbour of Doyle who is still living makes baskets up to the present day but only for his own use.An old resident of Mentrim whoc is also living makes violins. He makes them from tea-chests. Another old craft arried on in Mentrim long ago was clog-making. The little wood in which this particular man who made the clogs lived in is now know a "clog-mans Glen".
