I've come to tell you of my loss
My donkey has departed O
This morning after many a toss
For 'Kingdom come' he started O 2
When you took my baste away
His step was light and sparky O
He seemed to be a trifle gay
And a healthy little donkey. 3
But when you took him back again
His step was quite dejected O
And signs of great distress and pain
On him could be detected O

Well bloody battle to you now
I never struck you your donkey O
Nor neither was he worth this row
