- When 'goat's hair' is seen in the sky it is a sign of good weather.
If we see streamers from the sun in the evening it is a sign of rain. If the sun sets in a red colour it is a sure sign of a good day to-morrow but if it sets pale, rain will surely come, and if the sky is red in the east at sunrise it is a sign of rain.
When there is a circle around the moon it is a sure sign of rain. If when there is a new moon and we hear people saying it is on its back it is a sign of broken weather.
If the stars are shooting we will surely have rain.
A rainbow at morning
Is the shepherd's warning
A rainbow at night
Is the shepherd's delight
When the wind blows from the direction of Coole we will have rain.
The birds too are sometimes good weather omens. When the swallows are flying high in the air good weather is in front of us but if they fly near the ground(continues on next page)
