    on that day, we buy apples and nuts and eat them. Sometimes we get an apple, and tie it with a piece of cord to the ceiling, and try to bite it without the aid of our hands.
    Two nuts are put beside the fire on the hearth. They are supposed to represent some boy and girl. If they burn out together the boy and girl will be married, but if they separate they wont be married.
    The barm breac is also cut on this day. There is a ring in this breac and it is said that whoever gets the ring will be married first.
