- (continued from previous page)The wild birds commonly found in my district are Crows, Robins, Wrens, Blackbirds, Thrushes, Swallows, Goldfinches, Chaffinches, Skylarks, Stairs, Sparrows, Willy-Wag-Tails, Pigeons and magpies.
The swallows and cuckoo migrate. When the swallows are about to migrate they gather on walls or sheds or telegraph wires, and when they return the following year they always come to the same place.
Birds built their nests in the eaves of houses, in bushes, and on tree tops. The cuckoo builds no nest. She lays her egg in another bird's nest.
A crow's nest is made very roughly of sprigs. She lays two eggs. They are white in colour. The bird sits three weeks on the nest.
A robin makes its nest of moss(continues on next page)- Collector
