- We make lanterns from turnips by scooping out the inside of the turnips and cutting off a piece of the top for a lid then we cut out two holed for eyes and a hole for a nise and a hole for a mouth. The we cut out two holes one on each side to put a cord in to make a handle. The we put a candle inside and light it, and it shows great light.
