- About sixteen years ago three men heard a bean-sí crying over at Geoghegan’s because Tom Geoghegan was dying. When the three men heard that the bean-sí was so near the three men said to one to another “We will go over to see what sort a bean-sí is.” Off they went till they got to Geoghegan’s house they heard her at the back of a ditch.
They followed her up but they could not catch her. Then they went on the other side of the ditch to see if they could get past her and so they did, they met her on the road when they were going home. She looked at them very sharp and muttered something to herself. She was combing her hair the whole time and she let her comb fall on the road and one of them picked it up, the three of them ran with the comb.
