people of the house used to keep walking sticks belonging to old people in memory of them after their day was over.
The fire was nearly in the corner of the house . When the people used to sit at the fire they could look up the chimney or when it would be raining the rain could come down and quench the fire, they used to put a bag across the chimney and cut a wee hole in it to let the smoke out.
There was a settle bed in the kitchen and two benches inside the crosswall. They used to sweep the floor with the heather tied together called a beesom.
The bedroom floor was made of boards with clay under it, it was always very damp
The back wall of the house is nearly down and the roof of the room is knocked down.
