  1. There are three or four old Castle in the district. St Patrick built some of Clonarney church. It is in ruins this thirty years or more. None of the castles were attacked at any time. People say that if you went down to the underground cells in any of the castles that some ghost would bring you away.
    Ballinlough has a dungeon and Clonyn also. That was where the people hid from the Black and Tans. There is a ruined church in the district Ballinlough but it was not plundered. There is no carving on the doors. Some of Ballinlough and Clonarney church was built in the Summer nights.
    There was no wall knocked down by a bull but some of Pewtown castle was knocked down by the Black and Tans and other
