- Forts and raths are very numerous on the western side of the river Deel and we can see the flat tops of the trenches around the edges of the forts and traces of ancient gateways. The natives of this district call these great mounds of earth, "Forts"
It is believed fairies lived in these great forts and that there is treasure hidden in them. Farmers do not interfere with lone bushes because it is believed that it brings bad luck.
