  1. There is a lake situated in the townland of Clonbore called Loughcuth. There is a legend attached to it.
It is believed that at one time three men went to fish and as they were returning to the shore they saw a hand appearing as if to turn the boat. One man who was filling his pipe and to save himself from being drowned drew his knife and cut off a finger of the hand. They rowed on and were standing in shelter after getting out of the boat when a man appeared to them and stood beside them. He enquired who cut off the finger and the man admitted it. He advised the man who cut off the finger to go down into the lake with him and put it on again. He warned him not to take any refreshment when he put on the finger and promised to leave him safely back again.
