“These cures are known to me because my brother has them as he was the seventh son.”
There are many diseases that can be cured without the aid of the doctor. When the seven are born in succession the last born is said to have the cure of the toothache.
When the baby is born a certain worm is got and put into the baby's hand. It is left there until it dies. He is then known locally as the doctor.
A person who has a toothache goes to him to be cured. He puts his hand on the cheek on the side where the pain is felt. He says some prayers when he is curing the person but no one knows this prayer.- Collector
