Robin a Robin alive in my arms

    (continued from previous page)
Máire Ní Fhágáinn - The following got from my Grandfather aged 92 living in Springfield Mullingar.

Robin a Robin alive in my arms
Robin a Robin if you die in my arms
    My mouth shall be bridled
    My back shall be saddled
Through rocks and reels and my own spinning wheel
And away the robin goes round

    Paddy Mallon
One Paddy Mallon lived near the bog
He kept a white ass and a pair of black dogs
Himself and Sean Sharkey began to truck
And lame Jimmy Nooney gave him a goat
He went down to Granard to buy some veil
And on his way home the ass began to fail
Such prodding and durring you never did see
The neighbours all told him you will kill the donkey
When he went home he called for his stone hammer
And I will kill him dead
For he was the worst donkey that ever was fed
