    housewives who prepare them for use. They melt some grease in a griosad, and the rushes are taken one at a time and run along the narrow part of the griosad till every part absorbs its share of grease.
    They are then tied up and left to dry till they are ready for use. The wooden candle-stick with its metal contrivance for holding the rush is now an antique.
