  1. Another well-known common cure is that of what is called "the worm".
    The seventh successive son or daughter in a family has the power to cure this disease.
    When the child is born the nurse or some friend goes to the garden, and brings in two worms - a male and female of a certain known type. These worms are tied by means of a piece of muslin in the baby's hand.
