    between each ridge and it was called a furrow.
    The potatoes are dug in Autumn and they are sowed in Spring.
    In Autumn the potatoes are put in a pit.
    There is a deep hole made in the ground and the potatoes are put into it and covered with clay.
    Long ago starch was made out of the potatoes and potato cakes were made from the potatoes also. The potatoes are in drills and ridges.
    When the potatoes are grown they are sprayed with bluestone. During the summer months they are moulded, the clay is put up on top of them.
    The starch was used long ago for starching white muslin dresses.
    First the potatoes were washed and peeled. Then they were rasped. The rasped
