- There is a Leipreachan in Nolagh fort which is situated about one mile west of Ballinalack. He sits at the fort every night making boots and shoes. He is usually dressed in a green coat with a red three cornered hat. He is very small only about the size of a man's fist.
It is held locally that the Leipreachan has gold hidden in the fort. When he sees anybody he disappears into the fort. Some nights there is a light in the fort. The Leipreachan has a special place in the fort where he sits making boats.
