day of Lent is also kept as a holiday.
St Patricks day on the 17th March is kept as a holiday by everyone in Ireland, it is the day St. Patrick died.
Good Friday is always kept as a holiday, because it is the day Jesus was crucified.
Easter is one of the greatest Festivals of the year, most people eat a great many eggs on that day, as it is the first day after Lent. It is also the day that Jesus rose from the dead.
Ascension Thursday is the next holiday, forty days after Easter, it is the day we remember that Jesus ascended into Heaven.
Those are the holidays and customs which are still practiced in Ireland.
