  1. Once upon a time a man was living beside the river Inny in a little house and garden.
    He sowed nothing but oats in the garden.
    He used to keep a lot of hens, and feed them with the oats.
    When he died a big black dog came in and tried to eat the man.
    The people that were in the house killed the dog, and berried him under a bush.
    Some nights the dog begins to cry and the cry would
