My mother told me that she saw the old people make starch from the potatoes. When they made boxty or rasp they used leave the starchy substance in the bottom of the vessel leave it there to dry. Then they used to put it in the clothes but it gives a yellow tinge to the clothes.
When a bottle is very dirty people slice up a potato and put it into a bottle with a little water and this makes it very clean
