  1. The people used to make St Bridgets and St Patricks crosses. They made St Bridgets cross from rushes or straw that was blessed , and they used them for curing animals. They made St Patricks cross from paper and ribbons and they wore them on his feast day. They used to leave palm in the cow-houses to keep away all sickness and nearly everybody keeps holy water in their bedrooms to keep away evil spirits and all danger.
